Prgmea demands to set up Garment City in Sialkot
Karachi: Pakistan Ready-made Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (Prgmea) has demanded the government to establish garment city, garment technical training institute and a textile development centre in Sialkot.
Federal Minister for Textile Rana M. Farooq is visiting Sialkot on the request of Prgmea, who will also address a seminar here which is being organised by Textile Ministry.
Many other speakers will highlight the challenges for the modern day's textile garments industry in the face of global economic uncertainty, Ijaz Khokhar former Prgmea chairman told Business Recorder via phone from Sialkot.
He said that it will be the first time in the country's history that a textile minister is visiting the world famous city for sports wear and goods -Sialkot, whom is expected to announce incentives for the textile garments industry. During the visit, he said, the minister will also hold talks with garments' exporters.
