Pune’s Chakan, Ranjangaon, and Khed industrial belts witness the addition of 215 new units, creating 25,500 job opportunities.
Over the past five years, Pune’s Chakan, Ranjangaon, and Khed industrial belts have witnessed substantial growth, with 215 new manufacturing units coming up and providing direct employment to 25,551 people.
According to data from the Maharashtra government, the Chakan Industrial Area led the expansion with 117 new units, followed by Ranjangaon with 66 units and Khed with 32 units.
The new units span a variety of manufacturing sectors, reinforcing Pune’s status as one of Maharashtra’s major industrial and employment hubs. The resulting job creation has bolstered local economies, particularly benefiting workers from surrounding rural and semi-urban areas, the government said.
