PVR INOX Eyes 100+ New Screens in FY26, Focuses on Asset-Light Expansion and Strong Content.

PVR INOX, India's largest multiplex chain, is set to significantly expand itsकरेगा network in the financial year 2026, with plans to add over 100 new screens. The expansion will heavily focus on a capital-light growth model as the company also continues to close underperforming screens to optimize its portfolio.

The company expressed a strong optimistic outlook for FY26, anticipating a formidable lineup of content across Hindi cinema, Hollywood blockbusters, and regional films. PVR INOX also stated it will maintain its focus on developing alternative content streams, including re-releases, to attract audiences.

In its financial results for the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2025, the company reported a narrowed consolidated net loss of ₹125.3 crore, an improvement from a net loss of ₹129.7 crore in the corresponding period last year. However, consolidated revenue from operations saw a marginal decline to ₹1,249.8 crore during the quarter. The company attributed the performance in FY25 primarily to inconsistent content availability and the underperformance of some film releases.

Sanjeev Bijli, Executive Director, PVR INOX Ltd, commented on the upcoming year, stating, "The content pipeline in FY26 looks much better as we will have several big-ticket releases in Hindi besides some incredible Hollywood franchise movies getting released. The regional movie line-up also looks very good."

The strategic emphasis on a capital-light model is expected to support the company's expansion goals while managing capital expenditure efficiently. Alongside adding new, profitable screens, the closure of underperforming ones is aimed at improving operational efficiency and profitability.
