Radisson Hotel Group Plans Expansion, Sets Sights on Entering Bihar Market.

Radisson Hotel Group, which operates a portfolio of over 200 properties across India, is looking to expand its presence in the eastern part of the country, with plans to enter Bihar as part of its growth strategy. A senior company official emphasized the group's focus on establishing a balanced presence across both metro and smaller cities.

Speaking to PTI, K.B. Kachru, Chairman of Radisson Hotel Group's South Asia operations, highlighted the company’s approach of tapping into key locations across the country—including tier 2 and tier 3 cities—alongside traditional tier 1 markets.

“One of the reasons for our growth has been our focus on key locations pan-India. We are doing equally well in tier 2 and tier 3 cities as in tier 1, which is very gratifying,” Kachru said.

He also advocated for the preservation and adaptive reuse of historic buildings, suggesting that instead of demolishing such structures, they should be restored and repurposed into heritage hotels. “Rather than replacing them with big boxes, we should focus on restoring historic buildings. That adds value culturally and aesthetically,” he noted.

The group’s expansion plans align with broader trends in India’s hospitality sector, which is witnessing increasing demand in emerging markets and heritage tourism destinations.
