Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd's JV Wins Bid for Redevelopment of Thiruvananthapuram Central Railway Station
The Kerala Rail Development Corporation Limited (KRDCL) and Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) Joint Venture (JV) has emerged as the Lowest Bidder (L1) from Southern Railway for the redevelopment of Thiruvananthapuram Central Railway Station, on an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) mode.
The total project cost is INR 438,95,66,136.98, including GST. This translates to four hundred thirty-eight crore ninety-five lakh sixty-six thousand one hundred thirty-six rupees and ninety-eight paise.
The share distribution within the JV is as follows:
- M/s KRDCL holds a 51% share, serving as the lead member of the JV.
- M/s RVNL holds the remaining 49% as the other member.
This project aims to modernize and enhance the infrastructure of the Thiruvananthapuram Central Railway Station, one of the key transportation hubs in the region, to improve passenger services and station facilities. The redevelopment is part of the Indian Railways' broader initiative to upgrade stations across the country, promoting better connectivity and a more pleasant travel experience.
