State-owned RailTel Corporation of India Limited has received a Letter of Intent (LoI) for an Intelligent Transport Management System (ITMS) project from the Additional Commissioner for Transport (Enforcement-South) under the Karnataka Transport Department, the company said on Tuesday.

According to a regulatory filing, the estimated value of the order is ₹49.67 crore, inclusive of taxes, and the project is scheduled to be completed by November 3, 2026.

The ITMS project will leverage digital and communication technologies to monitor, manage, and enforce road transport systems. It is expected to include components such as automated number plate recognition systems, traffic surveillance cameras, e-challan enforcement mechanisms, and centralised control centres.

The system aims to improve traffic management, enhance road safety, and increase enforcement efficiency through real-time monitoring and data-driven decision-making.
