Ramaiah Group Eyes ₹850 Crore Investment for New Interdisciplinary STEM Campus.

“Engineering can no longer be taught in silos or clusters,” said Gurucharan Gollerkeri, Executive Director and Chief Strategy Officer at Gokula Education Foundation (Medical), as the group prepares to launch a new interdisciplinary institution.

The foundation is set to establish the Ramaiah Institute of Science and Management (RISM), backed by an investment of ₹850 crore. The initiative is designed around a systems-led, interdisciplinary education model aimed at integrating science, technology, and management disciplines.

As part of its global academic push, the group has also entered into a partnership with the University at Albany, State University of New York, which will support academic collaboration and knowledge exchange for the upcoming institute.

Gollerkeri highlighted that the new institution reflects a shift away from traditional segmented engineering education toward a more integrated learning approach. The interview also outlined the group’s broader vision for building a globally aligned STEM education ecosystem in India.
