Reliance Power plans India's largest windmill

Reliance Power plans to set up a 200 mw wind power project in Vashpet, Maharashtra with an estimated investment of R1,500 crore.

This would be India’s largest windmill. The project is expected to be commissioned by September next year, The project will supply power to Reliance Infrastructure-Mumbai at the tariff of R5.37 a unit determined by the state electricity regulatory commission, MERC. The developer will also earn additional revenue of R300 crore from the project over next 10 years in carbon credits.

The project will have the flexibility for capacity expansion of up to 200 mw.
