Renewable Energy Capacity Set to Surge with 127 GW of Projects Under Construction.

India currently has 127,050 MW of renewable energy capacity under construction, with an additional 89,690 MW at various stages of tendering, according to the Ministry of Power's statement in the Lok Sabha. These figures exclude large hydro and nuclear projects.

In the hydroelectric sector, 13,997 MW of projects are under construction, with an additional 24,225 MW in the planning stage.

As part of its global commitment, India aims to achieve 500 GW of non-fossil fuel-based electricity generation capacity by 2030. Currently, the country has 203,220 MW of renewable energy capacity, including 92,119 MW from solar, 47,716 MW from wind, as well as biomass and small hydro plants.
