RenewX 2025 Sees ₹200 Cr Biogas Investment Commitments: IBA.

The Indian Biogas Association (IBA) announced on Sunday that the biogas sector garnered investment commitments exceeding ₹200 crore during the RenewX 2025 renewable energy exhibition held at the Chennai Trade Centre, Nandambakkam, from April 23 to 25.

The three-day event, organized by Informa Markets, served as a significant platform for stakeholders across the bioenergy, solar, wind, energy storage, and management sectors. According to an IBA statement, the ₹200 crore in investment commitments materialized through various Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) within the biogas industry.

RenewX 2025 facilitated strategic collaborations and progressive discussions, with a particular emphasis on bioenergy innovations, sustainable partnerships, and policy dialogue. The bioenergy sector witnessed robust engagement from industry players, professionals, investors, and policymakers.

Gaurav Kedia, Chairman of IBA, highlighted the significance of the event for the biogas sector in the southern region. "This is the first time that we have showcased biogas sector capabilities in Chennai. Our interactions here have laid the groundwork for several new collaborations and have deepened interest in bioenergy solutions, especially in southern India," he stated.

IBA President A R Shukla emphasized the unique convergence of technology, grassroots innovation, and policy alignment at RenewX 2025. "It is clear that bioenergy can play a pivotal role in reshaping India's energy future especially when supported by the right regulatory and financial ecosystem," he noted.

Established in 2011 and revitalized in 2015, the Indian Biogas Association has been a key driver in promoting bioenergy solutions throughout India. The IBA collaborates with international organizations such as the German Biogas Association and actively advocates for sustainable waste management and clean energy generation through biogas technologies. The investment commitments secured at RenewX 2025 underscore the growing interest and potential of the biogas sector in contributing to India's renewable energy landscape.
