Report on Greater Noida-Yamuna e-way Metro sought.
The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) had recently asked the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to prepare a feasibility report for the 20.6km Metro rail project between Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway that was cleared in February this year.
The DMRC, however, is waiting for YEIDA to revert to it with some clarifications before submitting the report.
'The DMRC has asked for a few clarifications regarding the terms of reference to prepare the techno economic feasibility report (TEFR),' said a senior YEIDA official. 'We will put together the terms by this week and send it to DMRC,' he said.
Once the feasibility report is ready, the DMRC will prepare the detailed project report for the proposed Metro route, officials added. The Metro track is expected to run along the Yamuna Expressway between Pari Chowk in Greater Noida to Sector 22.
According to officials, the proposed Metro route will cost around Rs. 3,000-3,500 crore. 'The proposed 30km Noida-Greater Noida Metro track is estimated to cost Rs. 175 crore/km. By the same formula, the YEIDA Metro could cost about Rs. 3,500 crore,' said P C Gupta, CEO of YEIDA. 'Once we have both the DPR and the TEFR in place within the next few months, we will take the project further,' he added.
