Roca India Plans ₹400 Crore Investment for Expansion in Tamil Nadu

Leading global sanitaryware and bathroom solutions brand ROCA, based in Spain, has proposed a significant investment of ₹400 crore to expand its operations in Tamil Nadu. The announcement comes following a meeting between the company's management, including Carlos Velazquez, ROCA Global Director, and K Nirmal Kumar, Managing Director of Roca India, with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin and his delegation in Madrid, Spain.

The proposed investments will target the pipes and fittings factory in Chennai, capacity enhancement at the Perundurai unit, and the global plastics research center in Sriperumputhur.

K Nirmal Kumar, Managing Director of ROCA India, stated, "ROCA India has committed to invest further in process automation to export products to Europe and Australia, capacity expansion in pipes and fittings, and upgrading the Sanitaryware and Plastics Technical Centre to world standards in Tamil Nadu."

Carlos Velazquez emphasized the company's efforts in modernizing factories in India, aligning with a substantial reduction in CO2 emissions. He highlighted that 7 out of 9 factories of ROCA in India are partially powered by solar energy, ensuring a green and sustainable energy approach.

Roca India's products are marketed under brand names such as Laufen, Roca, Parryware, and Johnson Pedder. The company operates nine factories in India, with four located in Tamil Nadu – Ranipet, Perundurai, Sriperumbudur, and Irungatukottai.

As a family-owned group, ROCA holds a market leadership position in Europe, Latin America, and India, with a strong presence in Asia, the Middle East, Australia, and North America.
