RRP Defense Wins ₹29.8-Crore BEL Contract for High-Precision Germanium Lenses.

RRP Defense has secured an order worth about ₹29.8 crore from defence public sector undertaking Bharat Electronics Limited for the supply of high-precision germanium lenses used in infrared and thermal imaging systems mounted on rifles deployed by the armed forces.

The company said it will design, engineer and customise the germanium lenses to meet BEL’s specific technical and operational requirements for advanced defence applications.

Rajendra Chodankar, Founder and Chairman of the RRP Group of Companies, said the contract requires the company to develop 10 sample units within four to six weeks. Following testing and approval by BEL, the company will execute the main order involving the supply of 8,000 sets of 23 mm and 47 mm diameter optical elements.

The germanium lenses are critical components in thermal imaging and infrared systems widely used in modern defence and surveillance equipment.
