Rs. 250-cr bus terminal to come up at Maddilapalem.
AN integrated bus terminal with all modern amenities would be set up at Maddilapalem in the city with an estimated expenditure of Rs. 250 crore, Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) maning director managing director N Sambasiva Rao said recently.
Laying the foundation stone for a bus complex-cum-depot at Tagarapuvalasa here in the presence of HRD minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao here, the RTC MD said that the integrated bus terminal would be built on a public-private partership (PPP) mode. As a part of the project, commercial complex with multiplex theatres, entertainment and food parks would be developed at the Maddilapalem bus depot, spread over six acres.
Tenders would be invited for the project in another two weeks, he said, adding that a similar project was being planned in Tirupati too. The RTC management has also decided to screen cinemas in 100 select bus stations across the state.

Giving details about the upcoming bus complex-cum-depot at Tagarapuvalasa, Rao said, it would be the 11th in Visakhapatnam district. With the facility coming up in 4 acre, the long-pending demand of the people of Bheemili, Tagarapuvalasa and Anandapuram mandals would be realised.
With an green field international airport coming up at Bhogapuram, the Tagarapuvalasa area has become an important junction in the region and that the construction works of the bus stop would be completed in six months.
