Rs. 450 Crore Approved for 23 Road Development Projects in Indore.

The Indore Municipal Corporation's (IMC) Mayor-in-Council (MiC) recently approved 23 major road development projects worth ₹450 crore, aimed at enhancing the city's infrastructure and promoting sustainable growth. The decisions were made during a meeting led by Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava and attended by IMC Commissioner Shivam Verma, along with other senior officials.

The approved projects include the construction and widening of key roads connecting prominent areas such as Bhagirathpura, Kila Maidan, and the airport. In addition, the council greenlit the construction of 14 new roads in line with the city’s master plan. Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for these initiatives will be submitted to the state government for approval.

As part of the meeting, the council also approved the expansion of the biogas plant at Devguradia, increasing its capacity from 500 tons per day (TPD) to 800 TPD. This move is part of efforts to bolster the city's waste management system and support sustainability.

Other key decisions included the purchase of road-sweeping machines, the establishment of a new garbage transfer station, and the introduction of 100 electric garbage tipper vehicles to improve the city's cleanliness. Additionally, a new approach to dispose of dead animals using incineration technology was approved.

The MiC also approved plans to develop gardens in all 22 city zones, inspired by the success of the Eurasia Garden, to increase green spaces and enhance the city's aesthetics. Furthermore, a pilot project was approved to make one ward self-reliant through Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.

Mayor Bhargava emphasized that the council’s efforts aim to improve public amenities, urban infrastructure, and environmental sustainability, which will contribute to the overall development of Indore.
