Schneider Electric Infrastructure Announces ₹211 Crore Expansion of Kolkata Manufacturing Facility
Schneider Electric Infrastructure Limited has announced an investment of ₹211 crore to expand manufacturing capacity at its Kolkata Medium Voltage Components (KMVC) facility in West Bengal, India.
Approved by the company's Board of Directors on 29 October 2026, the expansion will increase annual vacuum interrupter production capacity from 250,000 to 375,000 units, representing a 50% increase. The project will also introduce additional manufacturing capacity for 18,000 circuit breakers annually.
The expansion is scheduled for completion by the end of FY 2028–29 and will be financed through internal accruals and/or external borrowings.
The investment forms part of Schneider Electric Infrastructure's strategy to strengthen domestic manufacturing capabilities, support export growth and accelerate technology upgrades across its medium-voltage electrical equipment portfolio.
Once operational, the expanded facility is expected to enhance production efficiency, strengthen supply capabilities and reinforce the company's position in India's growing electrical infrastructure and power distribution equipment market
