SCM Garments to Set Up Manufacturing Unit in Mannargudi.

SCM Garments, part of The Chennai Silks Group, recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Tamil Nadu government to establish a knitted garments manufacturing facility in Mannargudi.

The first phase of the project will involve an investment of ₹50 crore and is expected to generate 2,500 jobs, primarily for rural women, the company said in a statement.

SCM Garments currently operates 24 production units, producing 15 million units a month and employing nearly 25,000 people. The company serves international markets, including the UK, US, France, China, and Hong Kong.
