SECL, Coal India Arm, Inks ₹7,040-Crore Deal with TMC Mineral Resources.

Coal India subsidiary South Eastern Coalfields Ltd (SECL) has signed a ₹7,040-crore agreement with TMC Mineral Resources Pvt Ltd to implement large-scale coal production using paste filling technology, the company announced recently.

The technology, a modern underground mining method, fills mined-out voids with a paste made from fly ash, crushed overburden, cement, water, and binding agents. This approach eliminates the need for acquiring surface land, prevents land subsidence, and enhances the structural integrity of mines.

"SECL is set to become the first coal PSU in India to adopt paste fill technology for coal mining," the company said in a statement, highlighting its commitment to safer and more sustainable mining practices.
