Shahi Exports Partners with Taiwan's Little King Global to Form Joint Venture in Apparel Industry

Shahi Exports, a prominent player in the apparel manufacturing and export sector, has forged a strategic alliance with Little King Global, a renowned Taiwanese manufacturer specializing in synthetic sportswear fabrics. The collaboration aims to establish a joint venture focused on setting up a state-of-the-art processing unit for synthetic fabrics in Shimoga, Karnataka, with the primary objective of boosting employment opportunities in the region's manufacturing sector.

Scheduled to be fully operational by year-end, the processing unit will commence operations with an initial production capacity of 500 tonnes per month, with plans for expansion to 1,000 tonnes per month in the foreseeable future.

Ramalingam T, CEO of the Knits Division at Shahi Exports, emphasized the venture's commitment to delivering top-notch synthetic fabrics to customers while underlining the company's dedication to continuous improvement and product development. Furthermore, he highlighted the joint venture's potential to contribute significantly to employment generation across the country.

Established in 1974 by Sarla Ahuja, Shahi Exports boasts three fabric processing mills and over 50 apparel manufacturing facilities across eight states in India, employing over 96,000 individuals.

Bruce Liao, Vice-President of Little King Global, expressed optimism regarding the venture's prospects, particularly in leveraging India's manufacturing prowess and technological capabilities. He emphasized the commitment to offering recycled, responsive, and resilient services to customers once the Shimoga plant becomes operational.

Little King Global, headquartered in Taiwan, specializes in producing synthetic, circular knit fabrics tailored for activewear, outdoor wear, and sports clothing. The company also offers a range of value-added services, including yarn texturizing, dyeing, knitting, and post-finishing treatments such as lamination and digital printing.
