Shipping Corporation to increase fleet strength

Mumbai: Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) plans to acquire three new container ships next year. It will be buying the ships along with its existing JV partner Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC).

Presently, SCI has a total fleet-strength of 76, which includes five container vessels. The purchase of the vessels will cost about US$ 200 to 225 million.
