Siegwerk India Launches Automated Blending Facility in Pune.

Siegwerk, a global leader in printing inks and coatings for packaging applications, has inaugurated its newly expanded and automated blending facility in Chakan, Pune. This strategic expansion is aimed at meeting the rising demand for water-based inks in India and aligns with the company’s long-term vision to establish a future-ready, efficient, and sustainable supply chain infrastructure nationwide.

The upgraded facility is equipped with a cutting-edge automatic ink dispensing system, fully integrated with Siegwerk’s SAP platform. This technology enables inline mixing, precise loading of intermediates, and complete traceability across the production process. Designed to handle flexible batch sizes from 20 to 200 kilograms, the system offers high-precision blending with up to 1 gram dispensing accuracy. With these enhancements, the Pune facility is now capable of blending approximately 2,400 metric tonnes of ink annually—a significant boost in production capacity.

The inauguration comes as part of Siegwerk’s broader investment plan in India. Earlier this year, the company announced a ₹350 crore investment to expand its operations over the next three years. This initiative aims to position India as a central hub in Siegwerk’s global growth and innovation strategy, focusing on advanced manufacturing, sustainability, and talent development.

The opening of the automated blending facility marks a key milestone in Siegwerk’s commitment to scaling its operations and delivering next-generation solutions for the packaging industry in India.
