Siemens Bags ₹773 Crore Signalling, Telecom Deals for Nagpur Metro.

Siemens announced recently that it has secured two significant orders totaling approximately ₹773 crore from the Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation (MAHA-METRO). These contracts are for the provision of advanced signalling and telecommunication technologies for the Nagpur Metro Rail Project Phase 2, which will also include augmentations for Phase 1.

The comprehensive scope of work for Siemens Ltd under these separate orders involves the design, manufacture, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of a Communication-Based Train Control (CBTC) signalling technology. This cutting-edge system is essential for efficient and safe metro operations. Additionally, Siemens will implement advanced telecommunication technologies crucial for the seamless functioning of the metro rail network.

The total timeframe for the execution of these projects is estimated to be around 42 months. This substantial win further solidifies Siemens' role in advancing India's urban transportation infrastructure.
