Six firms apply for waste processing plants.
Following a robust response to its Expression of Interest (EOI) to set up waste-to-energy plants for processing the city's municipal solid waste, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has now received six applications for the project’s Request for Qualifications (RFQs), mostly from foreign firms.
After evaluating the RFQ responses, a Request for Proposals to finally choose a technology and set up a plant will be issued by the end of the month.
'We are studying the responses on the RFQs. The request for proposals will be issued within 15 days as we expect to finalise the tender another week thereafter,' additional municipal commissioner Mohan Adtani, in charge of the civic solid waste department, said.
