Six Villages Identified for Land Acquisition to Develop Maduranthakam Global City.

While the land acquisition process for the greenfield Parandur airport is ongoing, the Tamil Nadu government has initiated steps to acquire land for the development of a Global City in Maduranthakam Taluk, Chengalpattu district, around 90 km south of Chennai.

Six villages - Palayanur, Janikipuram, Attimanam, Padalam, Kallapiranpuram, and Pullparakoil — have been earmarked for the project. The Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO) will acquire a total of 787.52 hectares, with the largest portion planned at Palayanur (406 hectares) followed by Janikipuram (162.65 hectares), sources said.

Government officials confirmed that the clusters have been formally communicated to the Chengalpattu Collector as part of the land acquisition process.
