"SJVN Green Energy Ltd. Awarded LOA for 100 MW Solar Power Project by RUVNL"

SJVN Green Energy Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of SJVN Limited, has achieved a significant milestone in the field of renewable energy. The company participated in a competitive bidding process organized by Rajasthan Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (RUVNL) for the development of a Solar Power Project within the state of Rajasthan.

On October 6, 2023, SJVN Green Energy Limited proudly received the Letter of Award (LOA) at a competitive tariff rate of INR 2.62 per unit. This LOA signals the initiation of the development of a 100 MW Solar Power Project, which will be strategically located within Rajasthan. The project will be executed on a Build Own and Operate (BOO) basis, with an estimated construction and development cost of approximately INR 600 Crores.

This pioneering solar project is anticipated to generate an impressive 252 million units of electricity in its first year of operation. Over a span of 25 years, the cumulative energy production is projected to reach a substantial 5866 million units. As per the Request for Selection (RfS) guidelines, the project is mandated to be commissioned within 18 months from the date of the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) signing, which will take place between RUVNL and SJVN Green Energy Ltd, spanning a contract period of 25 years.

In addition to contributing to the growth of renewable energy in Rajasthan, the commissioning of this project is expected to play a pivotal role in reducing carbon emissions. It is estimated that the project will lead to a reduction of approximately 287,434 tonnes of carbon emissions, aligning with the Government of India's mission to curtail carbon emissions and promote sustainable energy solutions. This achievement underlines SJVN Green Energy Limited's commitment to clean and environmentally friendly power generation.
