"SJVN Lands Inaugural Project in Mizoram".
SJVN has announced that it received a letter of intent (LoI) for a 2,400 MW pumped storage project in Mizoram, valued at over Rs. 13,947 crore. This development marks the company's first project in the state.
According to the LoI, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) will be signed within three months between SJVN and the Mizoram government. The LoI was issued by the Mizoram government for the Darzo Lui Pumped Storage Project, which will be allocated on a nomination basis through the MoU route.
The proposed project, with an installed capacity of 2,400 MW, will be constructed across Darzo Nallah, a tributary of the Tuipui River. The estimated cost of the project, including interest during construction (IDC) and financing costs, is Rs. 13,947.50 crore at April 2023 price levels. The project aims to utilize the available gross heads of the upper and lower reservoirs, which span 770 meters.
