Sonsoddo solid waste project to be completed after rains.

The completion of the municipal solid waste project will only be finished post-monsoon as the construction of the much-needed landfill site at Sonsoddo has been suspended for the last five months.

If the work on the sanitary landfill site had been allowed to resume, the citizens of Margao would finally have had a fully-functional garbage treatment plant. Raia locals had blocked trucks carrying mud from the Sonsoddo solid waste treatment plant's landfill site in the last week of October 2013. According to the concession agreement between Fomento Green and Margao municipal council (MMC), the excavation of mud is necessary to construct the landfill site, which upon completion, would make the treatment plant fully operational.
