Soufflet Malt to Set Up New India Malthouse in Partnership with United Breweries Limited
Soufflet Malt has announced plans to set up a new malthouse in South Rajasthan in partnership with United Breweries Limited (UBL), part of Heineken. The facility will supply high-quality malt for brewing beers such as Kingfisher and Heineken.
The first phase of the project is slated for commissioning in early 2028. Initially, the malthouse will have a production capacity of 110,000 tonnes per year, with plans to double capacity in the second phase.
Jorge Solis, CEO of Soufflet Malt, said the project aligns with the company’s MALTiply 2030 strategy of leveraging global capabilities to strengthen its local presence. He described the partnership with UBL as a significant step toward delivering high-quality malt to established beer brands while creating long-term value.
Solis added that the collaboration brings together two industry leaders with a shared focus on excellence, quality and sustainability, benefiting stakeholders across the value chain, including farmers, suppliers, partners and consumers.
