Strides Arcolab to launch two more drugs

Bangalore: Strides Arcolab, the Bangalore-based Rs 1,000 crore pharmaceutical firm, has announced that the US Food and Drug Administration has granted Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) approvals for two drugs 0sterile Vancomycin HCl USP, 500 mg/vial, 1 g/vial and Sterile Vancomycin HCl USP, 5 g/vial Pharmacy Bulk Package.

According to a statement from Strides, independent research data estimates an annual market size for Sterile Vancomycin HCl of approximately $150 million.

The expected launch date for these two new products is the first half of 2009.

To date, the joint venture has filed for 18 ANDAs and has received 14 approvals.
