SUN Mobility to Establish 100 Battery Swapping Centres at Bengaluru Metro Stations.

SUN Mobility is set to establish nearly 100 battery-swapping centres across Bengaluru Metro stations, integrating electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure with public transport to enhance last-mile connectivity. The expansion will cover the entire metro network, boosting convenience for EV users across the city.Currently, Bengaluru witnesses approximately 22,000 battery swaps monthly at SUN Mobility stations, averaging 100 swaps per station per day, with daily energy consumption of 130-140 kilowatt-hours.

“We will have around 100-plus stations in Bengaluru Metro as well, covering the length and breadth of the network,” said Anant Badjatya, CEO of IndoFast Energy, a 50:50 joint venture between IndianOil Corporation Limited (IOCL) and SUN Mobility.

These battery-swapping stations will be strategically located at metro station parking areas and auto stands, catering to passengers traveling to and from metro trains. In the past month alone, the stations have serviced 19,000 vehicles, averaging 2,800 vehicles per station, including 2,300 two-wheeler trips and 500 three-wheeler trips.
