Suzlon Unveils AI-Enabled Blade Plants, Targets ₹500–550 Crore Annual Capex.

Renewable energy major Suzlon Energy has unveiled plans to set up three new AI-enabled smart-blade manufacturing facilities while upgrading its existing units. The expansion is aimed at boosting production capacity to meet the company’s 6.2-GW order book.

Suzlon Group CEO JP Chalasani said the company has earmarked an annual capital expenditure of ₹500–550 crore, which will be deployed flexibly across all its manufacturing locations. The new facilities will be developed in phases, and specific capacity additions and investment allocations will evolve as the projects progress, he noted. The upcoming plants will be dedicated exclusively to Suzlon’s 3 MW turbine series.

Chalasani added that Suzlon has identified about 23 GW of potential wind sites across India through mast-based wind resource assessments. Of this, land acquisition is already underway for 7–7.5 GW. While the company continues to focus on traditional wind-rich states such as Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh, it is also re-entering Andhra Pradesh and exploring opportunities in Odisha, he told businessline.
