Suzuki Finalizes Agreement for Fifth Biogas Production Plant in Gujarat.
Suzuki Motor Corporation (Suzuki) has signed a three-party MoU with Suzuki R&D Center India Private Limited, the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), and Banas Dairy to establish the fifth biogas production plant in Gujarat and promote rural mobility services using biogas.
The MoU signing ceremony took place on Friday at the Banas Dairy Sanadar Plant in Banaskantha district, Gujarat, attended by Banas Dairy’s Chairman Shankar Chaudhary, NDDB’s Chairman Meenesh Shah, and Suzuki’s President Toshihiro Suzuki. Approximately 2,500 dairy farmers from nearby farms also attended the event, according to an official release.
The three parties are collaborating to set up four biogas production plants in Banaskantha district, Gujarat. The newly concluded agreement will see the fifth biogas production plant established at Tharad in Banaskantha district.
The rural mobility service aims to provide clean and affordable transportation to rural citizens by using biogas fuel for Maruti Suzuki’s CNG vehicles. This service will initially launch within the Banaskantha district. "By cooperating with Banas Dairy and NDDB, we will initiate two new businesses: biogas production plant and rural mobility service. Each party will contribute ideas to create a new lifestyle model and support the development of Banaskantha district," stated Suzuki's President Toshihiro Suzuki.
