Sweden-based Kanthal invests in new wire manufacturing facility in Hosur.
Kanthal, the Sweden-based global supplier of industrial heating and resistance materials, has inaugurated a new wire manufacturing facility at its existing plant in Hosur, India. The 1,980-square-meter expansion is set to more than triple the production capacity at the site.
The new facility will serve the increasing local demand for industrial heating products in India while also boosting Kanthal's export capabilities. The expansion will allow the company to sell more to Southeast Asian markets, including Singapore, Korea, Japan, and China, as well as parts of Europe.
Robert Stal, President of Kanthal, stated that India is a key market and one of the fastest-growing economies for the company. He added that the increased local demand for Kanthal's products, along with the Indian government's "Make in India" initiative, were primary drivers for the expansion. The Hosur facility, which first began operations in 1988, has grown in importance over the years and is now one of the company's key manufacturing hubs.
The new production line incorporates advanced automated processes to ensure high-quality appliance wire production and increased efficiency. In addition to traditional industrial segments, the company sees strong growth in emerging areas like electronic components and load banks, which this expansion is designed to support.
