Swiss Pharma Giant Lonza to Establish New Global Capability Center in Hyderabad.

Lonza Group AG, a global contract development and manufacturing organisation (CDMO), has decided to establish a new Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Hyderabad.

A delegation from the Switzerland-headquartered company met D Sridhar Babu, Minister for Industries, and Shakthi M Nagappan, CEO of Telangana Lifesciences, to formally convey the decision to set up the new GCC in the city.

Founded in 1897 and headquartered in Switzerland, Lonza operates across more than 30 sites globally and employs close to 20,000 professionals. In 2025, the company reported sales of CHF 6.5 billion and a Core EBITDA of CHF 2.1 billion.

The proposed GCC is expected to strengthen Hyderabad’s position as a major life sciences and pharmaceutical hub while supporting Lonza’s global operations.
