Tamil Nadu Attracts ₹5,980 Crore in Deals, Expanding Job Opportunities in Semiconductors and Aerospace.
The Tamil Nadu government recently signed two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with Japanese electronics giant MinebeaMitsumi and Bengaluru-based Aequs Group, involving a combined investment of ₹5,980 crore.
The agreements were signed in the presence of Chief Minister M. K. Stalin at the Secretariat and are expected to create 8,400 jobs across the semiconductor and aerospace sectors, according to an official release.
As part of the deal, NMB Minebea India Private Limited will invest ₹1,980 crore to set up a manufacturing and research and development centre in Tiruvallur, within the Mahindra Origins Industrial Park. The facility will focus on building a complete manufacturing ecosystem for high-value semiconductors, including Insulated-Gate Bipolar Transistors (IGBTs) and Integrated Circuits (ICs), as well as motors and sensors.
