Tamil Nadu: MEPZ SEZ Clears ₹41 Cr Investment in 8 Projects.
The MEPZ Special Economic Zone (SEZ) has greenlit eight new projects across Tamil Nadu, representing a total investment of approximately ₹41 crore and poised to create 2,951 new jobs. The approvals were granted during the recent Unit Approval Committee meeting, chaired by Zonal Development Commissioner Alex Paul Menon, held in June 2025.
The diverse range of approved projects spans key sectors including manufacturing, IT/ITES, logistics, and warehousing, signaling a broad economic boost for the state.
A standout among the approved ventures is Inventurus Knowledge Solutions Ltd, which plans to invest ₹12 crore at the KGISL SEZ in Coimbatore. This project alone is expected to generate a significant 1,647 jobs, notably including 30 dedicated positions for transgender individuals, a commendable step towards inclusive employment.
Further strengthening Tamil Nadu's IT sector, Infosys will expand its operations at the Sholinganallur SEZ with a ₹5 crore investment, leading to the creation of 1,000 new jobs. Quinte Financial Technologies is set to infuse ₹1 crore and add 130 jobs at the ELCOT SEZ in Trichy. In the logistics and warehousing space, Invigo Tea Pvt. Ltd will invest ₹5 crore and generate 70 jobs at the Tuticorin SEZ.
These approvals underscore the continued appeal of Tamil Nadu as a prominent investment destination, with the MEPZ SEZ playing a crucial role in facilitating economic growth and job creation across various industries.
