Tamilnadu Govt to revive Udangudi power project

The Tamil Nadu Electricity Board has finally decided to go solo on Udangudi power project. The Tamil Nadu govt press release said that it would invest Rs 8,000-crore on the 1,600-MW itself with the financial support of the State Government.
The power project had originally conceived as a joint venture between BHEL and the TNEB, both of which had floated the Udangudi Power Corporation Ltd, to implement the project.
The joint venture had been floated in December 26, 2008. But the project had not made any headway.
