Tata Electronics Teams Up With ASML Ahead of India’s First Commercial Chip Fab Launch.
Tata Electronics has partnered with ASML to support the establishment and ramp-up of its upcoming 300 mm (12-inch) semiconductor fabrication facility in Dholera, Gujarat, marking a significant step in India’s semiconductor manufacturing ambitions.
The partnership brings together Tata Electronics’ plans for India’s first commercial semiconductor fab with ASML’s expertise in advanced lithography systems and semiconductor manufacturing technologies. The Dholera facility is expected to manufacture chips for applications across automotive, mobile devices, artificial intelligence (AI), and other high-growth sectors, catering to customers worldwide.
“ASML’s deep expertise in holistic lithography solutions will ensure the timely ramp of our Fab in Dholera, create a resilient and trusted supply chain for our global customers, drive innovation and develop talent locally,” said Dr. Randhir Thakur.
The semiconductor fab, planned with a total investment of $11 billion, is expected to play a key role in strengthening India’s position in the global semiconductor supply chain while boosting local manufacturing capabilities and talent development.
