Tata Steel to Invest ₹20,000 Crore in FY27 to Boost Capacity and Technology Adoption.

Tata Steel to Invest ₹20,000 Crore in FY27 to Boost Capacity and Technology Adoption.

Tata Steel plans to spend around ₹20,000 crore on capital expenditure in FY2026-27, with the bulk of the investment earmarked for its India operations, the company's management said.

The planned capital expenditure represents an increase of about 38 per cent over the ₹14,559 crore the steelmaker invested during FY2025-26.

"In FY26, we spent ₹14,559 crore on capital expenditure, and we plan to increase this to approximately ₹20,000 crore in FY2026-27, with 60 per cent allocated to India," Tata Steel CEO and Managing Director T V Narendran and Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer Koushik Chatterjee said.

The higher capital outlay will support the company's ongoing expansion plans and the adoption of new technologies, with India remaining the primary focus of its investment strategy.
