TCS Announces Plans for New Facility in Visakhapatnam.

In a significant boost to Andhra Pradesh's investment landscape, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) will establish a new facility in Visakhapatnam, creating jobs for 10,000 professionals. The decision was finalized after discussions between Nara Lokesh, Minister for IT, Communications & HRD, Government of Andhra Pradesh, and the top management of the Tata Group in Mumbai. The announcement was made on Wednesday.

“I am pleased to announce the development of an IT facility by Tata Consultancy Services that will employ 10,000 people. Our commitment is to provide a world-class investment environment, driven by our motto of 'speed of doing business.' This investment by TCS is a significant milestone in our efforts to make Andhra Pradesh the No. 1 state for business in India,” Lokesh shared on X (formerly Twitter).

This development comes on the heels of HCL’s recent investment in Visakhapatnam, further solidifying the city’s position as an emerging IT and tech hub.

In addition to TCS, several prominent companies such as Lulu Group, Brookfield, Oberoi, and Suzlon Energy have recently announced investment plans in Andhra Pradesh. Lokesh emphasized that TCS’s move highlights the state’s resurgence as a preferred destination for corporate investments in India.
