TCS gets more space for development
Gandhinagar: Tata Consultancy Services(TCS), which already has 1.15 lakh square feet of office space at InfoCity here, has acquired another 90,000 sq ft in the newly-constructed Tower III.
Creative InfoCity Ltd, an 80:20 joint venture between the Florida-based Creative IT Inc and Gujarat Government, has leased out this space spread over entire three floors in the new tower, Mr Hitendra Barot, Director, told reporters here today.
The fourth tower of the six planned so far with four million sq ft in the 150-acre premises is also nearing completion by June 2008. InfoCity, where a total investment of Rs.1,000 crore has been planned, is the only compact premises in India that offers all basic amenities, including unlimited bandwidth, entertainment, hotels, multiplexes and residential and commercial complexes besides office space in the 45-acre area developed so far, he said.
About 40 other IT and ITeS companies are in talks to acquire office space ranging from 5,000 to 40,000 sq ft in the new and up-and-coming towers with which the demand for space has shot up to eight lakh sqf t.
When fully developed, InfoCity would offer two crore sq ft of space in the next few years. At present, nearly 11,000 have been employed in the existing 45 companies while an equal number of jobs for support staff in various services have been created.
With the completion of Tower III, the direct and indirect jobs would number14,000 and 20,000 respectively. InfoCity is also offering 480 well-furnished studio/service apartments to accommodate employees working in various IT companies in the premises.
