"Telangana CM: ADB Greenlights ₹4,000 Crore Funding for Musi Restoration Project."
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has agreed to extend loans totalling ₹4,000 crore for the Musi River Rejuvenation project, Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy told the State Assembly recently.
Addressing the House, the Chief Minister said the detailed project estimates would be finalised by March 31, after which tenders would be invited and work would commence immediately.
He said consultants had been appointed to study the project and submit their recommendations, with the aim of finding a permanent solution to pollution in the Musi river. As part of the plan, the government intends to divert water from the Godavari river to the Musi.
The project envisages the utilisation of about 5 thousand million cubic feet (TMC) of water to ensure a continuous flow of clean water in the river, the Chief Minister added.
