Telangana Collaborates with Microsoft to Build Green Skills Ecosystem.

The Telangana Government, in collaboration with Microsoft, will establish a Green Skills & Applied AI Centre of Excellence (CoE) aimed at equipping youth with AI-ready skills for sustainable manufacturing and building a talent pipeline for the emerging green economy and AI-driven industrial ecosystem.

The centre will focus on Green Pharma and is being developed in partnership with Microsoft, 1M1B Foundation (One Million for One Billion), and the MeitY Startup Hub under the Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.

The CoE is expected to commence operations from next month, a state government spokesperson said.

Highlighting the growing role of artificial intelligence in sustainable industries, Rajiv Kumar, Managing Director and President, Microsoft India Development Centre, said AI is becoming a key enabler for transforming industrial operations.

“Artificial intelligence is rapidly becoming the operating system for sustainable industries. In life sciences and pharmaceutical manufacturing, AI has the potential to improve productivity, optimise energy use, accelerate research, and enable more sustainable operations,” Kumar said in a statement on Thursday.

The initiative is expected to strengthen workforce capabilities in emerging technologies while supporting Telangana’s efforts to promote innovation-led and sustainable industrial growth.
