Telangana Issues ₹6,294 Crore Tenders for Rural Road Development.

The Telangana government has issued tenders worth ₹6,294 crore for the construction of rural roads under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM), aiming to significantly boost rural infrastructure and economy.

The Panchayat Raj Engineering Department released tenders on Friday for the construction of 2,162 roads spanning 7,449.50 km across 96 constituencies. These works are divided into 17 packages, with companies invited to complete construction within 30 months and maintain the roads for 15 years thereafter.

Under HAM, the government will pay 40% of the project cost during construction, while contractors will mobilize the remaining 60% through bank financing. The contractors will also be responsible for the roads’ maintenance for 15 years following completion.

Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Danasari Anasuya Seethakka emphasized the project’s role in transforming village roads and enhancing transportation infrastructure, calling it a flagship programme that will boost the rural economy.

The project focuses on connecting Gram Panchayats to mandal headquarters, mandal to district headquarters, and district to state headquarters. Additionally, the State Cabinet recently approved tenders worth ₹10,547 crore for constructing 5,566 km of roads under HAM, as proposed by the Roads and Buildings Department.

Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy praised Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s leadership in advancing Telangana’s road infrastructure. He said the tendering process will begin within a week, with work starting immediately on 10 of 32 packages in the first phase.

“We are committed to constructing smooth, high-quality roads across Telangana within the next 30 months, setting a benchmark for the nation in quality, durability, and aesthetics,” the minister said.
