"Telangana Unveils 'Aikam' at Davos to Spearhead Global AI Talent and Startup Innovation."
The Telangana government has launched Aikam, an autonomous organisation aimed at promoting and strengthening the artificial intelligence (AI) ecosystem in the State. The initiative will focus on building a globally competitive AI workforce through large-scale upskilling, accelerating AI-first startups, providing compute infrastructure and establishing a dedicated AI Fund-of-Funds.
Announcing the launch at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy said the initiative is designed to position Telangana among the world’s top 20 innovation hubs. He invited global partners to set up pilot and testing facilities in the State as the global AI ecosystem transitions from pilot projects to large-scale deployment.
Telangana IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu said Aikam offers a clear execution pathway from ideas to globally scalable solutions. He added that the organisation’s autonomous structure, anchored within the State government, would enable faster decision-making while ensuring public trust and responsible adoption of AI technologies.
