Tembo Defence to Establish Manufacturing Plant in Maharashtra with MoU Signed at Davos.
Tembo Defence Products Private Limited, a subsidiary of Tembo Global Industries Limited, is set to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Maharashtra government during the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. The agreement will pave the way for the establishment of a defence manufacturing facility in Maharashtra.
The initiative aligns with India’s “Make in India” campaign, aiming to boost indigenous defence production capabilities, generate employment, and drive technological advancements in the sector.
Sanjay J. Patel, Managing Director of Tembo Global Industries Limited, highlighted the transformative potential of the project, stating that the collaboration would enhance India’s self-reliance in defence manufacturing and strengthen the nation’s capabilities in this critical area.
Founded in 2010, Tembo Global Industries specializes in manufacturing metal components for pipe support systems, fasteners, and HVAC equipment. Recognized as a 2 Star Export House, the company diversified into EPC contracting in 2023 and ventured into defence manufacturing in 2024.
Tembo’s certified products, which include components for fire sprinkler systems, are used in industrial, commercial, and OEM installations. The company has also expanded its operations into the textile trading and solar power sectors, underscoring its commitment to innovation and growth across industries.
The planned Maharashtra facility represents a significant step forward in India's efforts to bolster its defence sector and achieve self-reliance in advanced manufacturing.
