TenderSure: completion of work on three roads to be delayed.

Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) will soon upgrade Residency Road and Richmond Road. According to highly placed sources, BBMP has sought permission from the Bangalore City Traffic Police to take up the work on these two arterial roads. 'Soon after the traffic police accord permission, the work will be taken up,' the sources told The Hindu.

Motorists may have to be put up with the ongoing development work on Cunningham Road, Vittal Mallya Hospital Road and St. Mark’s Road for a few more months as its completion is going to be delayed. Sources in Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) conceded that the work on upgrading the three roads in the Central Business District was indeed taking a long time. The work on utility ducts on the three roads is in progress.

A senior official said upgrading of seven roads in the first package of TenderSURE project is not likely to be completed in a year as per schedule. 'Shifting of utilities is taking a long time. We are reviewing the progress, besides holding coordination committee meetings with our counterparts in Bangalore Water Supply and Sewage Board (BWSSB) and Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (Bescom) at regular intervals.'
