TIKA to build school in Nangarhar

Nangarhar: Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency (TIKA) for the first time announced to work in Eastern zone and promised to construct High School and rehabilitate another in Nangarhar province.

Patman, after the meeting that took place in Jalalabad city between the TIKA head and him, said that Turkey has already built such High Schools elsewhere in the country.

Saleh Folaad, Head of TIKA said that they have provided assistance in different provinces of Afghanistan from the year 2004. He added that the Turkish Government's technical assistance agency have constructed 52 school buildings in Kandahar, Bamyan, Herat, Mazar and other provinces.

'We will construct a big compound for a modern High School in Jalalabad city next year', He said. Folad did not mention the cost of the promised project but said that they would provide any mount requested by the Ministry of Education.

Nangarhar Education Director, Mohammad Iqbal said that two structures of Nangarhar High School were old and could not accommodate all the students. TIKA is the Turkish Government's technical assistance agency which operates in many countries across Africa, Asia and Europe.
