Titagarh Rail Systems Delivers First Driverless Trainset to Bengaluru Metro for Yellow Line.

Titagarh Rail Systems has delivered its first driverless trainset to the Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation for the Yellow Line, marking a significant milestone in India's urban mobility landscape. This fully automated, Made-in-India trainset is the first passenger rolling stock to operate on the 18-km stretch of the Yellow Line, enhancing connectivity in Bengaluru.

The state-of-the-art trainset is designed for high performance, incorporating advanced automation that enables it to operate in driverless mode. This marks Titagarh’s first stainless steel trainset, with two additional deliveries expected in April 2025. Production will gradually increase to two trains per month by September 2025, supporting the ongoing expansion of Bengaluru’s metro system.

The delivery of this trainset highlights India’s growing capabilities in manufacturing advanced metro rail solutions and is expected to contribute significantly to the city’s evolving public transportation infrastructure.
