TN CM M.K. Stalin Launches ₹13,077-Crore Unit-1 of 2x660 MW Udangudi Thermal Power Plant.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin recently virtually inaugurated power generation from Unit-1 of the 2x660 MW supercritical thermal power plant at Udangudi in Thoothukudi district, built at a cost of ₹13,077 crore.

The plant has been developed by the Tamil Nadu Power Generation Corporation Limited.

According to a company release, the electricity produced from the plant will be fed into the state power grid and distributed via a 400-kV gas-insulated substation, strengthening the region’s energy infrastructure.
